A grand cherokee ate my rocker...last night when I stopped for coffee...Standard excuse " Did not see it...". nuked my rear fender into tire, lic tag, then knocked it over of course which ate the muffler and gas grip...
My wife and daughter picked me up and said it could be worse...I looked at them and asked "How, are you going to shoot me?"...LOL, I was in a semi-comatose attitude at that point...
I am packed, have my place up there ready to go and was leaving this morning...
I'm going back to bed...thanks for listening...
Wow, that sucks. Assume you are not injured, which is good news. Have been lucky so far with both of my bikes....hopefully you're back on the road soon!
Fuuuuuuck man. That blows bad.
I was there all weekend and back again for the end of it.
Yea, bad jokes are always badly tolerated when your in a bad mode.
Your not missing much. Its not what it used to be a anymore.
Talk with YOUR (not the car driver's) insurance agent right away. Most of the time, a driver who is at fault for an accident is required to provide you replacement transportation when your insured vehicle is damaged. And, even if the other guy's insurance is slow to respond, your own company can cover the rental, and then recover from the other company.
When my wife's car was rear-ended a couple of years back, the at-fault driver's insurance company immediately authorized a rental car, paid for by them directly.
If you do this right, you may be able to salvage your trip, using a rental bike instead of your own bike. Not as good I know, but better than staying home.
See if you can make it work, it wont be pretty but at least you wont have to worry about your bike while there it's already banged up and get it fixed when you come back. I feel for you Bro
This whole situation sucks, gonnna be a great week for Laconia this year, weather wise. Every time I head north for bike week I end up sitting out the rain in a cabana at the Naswa waiting for the rain to stop. Sorry to hear about your bike.
Thanks folks...but you had to bring up the good weather, LOL...no rain and I'm HOME...mowing the lawn...LOL. not what I was dreaming about during those cold winter nights...
That really does bite! I am so sorry that it happened at all, but especially for the specific timing. Still, your wife was right. It could have been worse. I am assuming you were not on the bike when it happened since you said you had stopped for coffee. In either case, you were not hurt! That is most important and how it could have been so much worse.
