I went by there today to get my rain gear out of my bike and saw it sitting there with no engine in. The tech said they were not sending the engine out there but doing the work in house since they had techs that were qualified for that level. We talked about the reman engine program and he said that the program was for dealerships that didn't have the ability in house, but my engine wouldn't be sent out for the work.
I got to thinking about other symptoms and they were a lot like the bad compensator symptoms which is what got me thinking that way to begin with. I just got my softail back today. Runs like a champ and shifts really smooth now. I even find neutral way easier than before. With the upgraded Screaming Eagle oil pump that replaces the chain and tensioners with the newer style the cost was only $238 since I had the foresight to get a service agreement. I think in this one repair the service agreement has more than paid for itself.
