A 1999 Heritage is an EVo that isnot counterbalnaced and it is not rubber mounted. I had a 1987 Heritage which is the same setup, and it vibrated like hell at interstate speeds.
If you are now riding an '06 rubber mounted Sportster you might find the vibration of the older(prior to2000)Heritage intrusive. Some people don't mind it, some do.
Well I picked up my bike today and got rid of the Sporty. Wouldn't you know it. I live in Iowa and the temp outside today is 19. Have not even rode it yet. I am excited though. Thanks everyone for your help
Well, It was colder then you know what but I could not let the new bike sit in the garage without riding it. I let the bike warm up put the choke half way in rode it at slow speeds for about 2 miles put the choke all the way in, the bike popped, jumped, farted and had no power. pulled the choke a little out and the bike still had no power what so ever. Called the dealership and they told me that, that evolution motor takes forever to warm up. I thought ok, it takes a long time even though my sporty had an evo motor in it and it never took that long to warm up. Went back out to the garage and I had oil all over the side of my bike, Air filter was saturated, a complete mess. Dealership picked it up but they told me, that the oil may have been overfilled but with it being so cold out (25 degrees in the morning ) that it got hot and caused the oil to expand and come out of the air filter. Does that sound right?

Some of the EVO's with Screaming Eagle airfilters would puke a littleoil out the aircleaner when hot and running down the highway hard. Some twin Cams will do the same thing, but what you are describing is not normal.
Jason, hopefully they will get this fixed for you. I have 99 Heritage and I just turned over 88 thousand miles last weekend with it. I think it runs great and the vibration is not that bad. I have done several 500 mile plus days 2 up with it with no issues at all. I have taken it on a few trips and it has done fine. I have had no maintenance issues with it. I have only done routine maintenance, tires, brakes, oil and battery replacement. It still has the original drive belt on it and it looks good. I plan to get at least 100k from this motor before I even think about doing anything to it. I will buy a different bike later on, but this one will never leave my garage.
Thanks everyone for the reply back. I will be going over to the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully they got everything worked out and the bike will not be shooting out anymore oil.
