Hi, Since fitting my heartland kit i've noticed my wheel does not line up with the fender very well the wheel is right back and needs to come forward at least a 1-1/8" to 1-1/4".... ok this is not a problem being the wheel is nearly as far back as possible as in the picture below
now the next photo is where i want the wheel to fit so it sits in the centre of the fender
this is how my belt looks when i put the wheel in the position i want
So my question is this i have 135 t belt 1-1/8" wide and i want to come forward 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" so what size belt do i need?...... or does anyone know how far the axle will move up every time you take a tooth off the belt?
Ok I've managed to get my hands on a snapped 133 tooth belt that I can use to work it out, so can someone please advise me on the best brand of belt for strength to use?

Well i've made my own link to get the correct belt size using a old snapped belt i should be able to pull the wheel forward enough and slip my belt off and then thread in the broken belt, bolt it back together and see how i'm looking with 2 teeth off at 133 instead of 135? If it is still to long i will just keep cutting off a tooth until i get the correct length.
If someone has a project and is struggling to find the correct length for a belt then this idea maybe of use?
If anyone is interested here are a couple of photos of my home made link.
Well i tried the belt today, started with 133 teeth, then cut another one off and and it's perfect. So i'm looking now for a 132 tooth belt to replace my 135 tooth. This moves my axle 21mm closer towards the engine, so basically every tooth you loose brings your axle 7mm closer towards the engine if anyone really cares?

Actually, I DO care, as I am planning to change the final drive ratio on my Breakout by changing from a 32 tooth to 30 tooth pulley. You have provided helpful info! Thank-you!
As far as brands go, I've heard enough good things about the Goodyear Falcon SPC belts that I went with one of those for my replacement. I like the construction of it better than the factory one (has a nice rough texture on the outside that looks like it will take more abuse than the original). It was around $110
