Heritage rear fender rail differances?

Heritage rear fender rail differances?
Hey Guys
I have a 87 Heritage FLSTC
The HD# 91081-93 rear rail is no longer available from the MoCo
I see other rear rails available from the aftermarket, such as Drag Specialties
DS 1413-0017 , V-Twin Man 50-2016 that list for 2000 & later FLSTC oviously
my bike is older.
What has changed that makes fitment different from older to newer softail models ? As far as I can tell the fender width of 7 1/4 is the same. The length of the fender appears to be the same. I must be missing something here, possibly some detail Im over looking?
If it makes any difference, I have a reproduction rear fender with out the fender tip light, if that is the issue. I have searched for threads , and can find tons of threads about istalling a Heritage rear rail on the Deluxe, and all the talk about drilling the fender or not. Being I have a Heritage, the fender is already drilled, so not a issue to me.
With the infro I provided, can anyone tell me if one of the above rails will fit my ride. Or please set me straight on what changed over the years that makes them different.
I also seen on on E-Bay going cheap , a HD 91081-93 , but I can see rust on the thing in the pics. Damn it.
