If you like it, chrome it.
I don't think anybody is going to confuse a Softail with a hardtail, so if chrome goes with your ride, do it..

It really is a matter of opinion. If "YOU" like it do it. If you don't then don't. IMHO it has alot to do with the color of the bike. Some look good with more chrome while others may not.

ditto everyone's post!

I initially planned to chrome, or cover with chrome, the swingarm on my Deuce, but after a few months I liked the way the swingarm harmonized with the black tin and rest of the frame...made the engine and so forth "pop" better. Somebody smart enough to teach a numb nuts like me how to do a gallery? Sure would like to get some pictures up of my modest ride that I happen to think is just right for now...except the lack of 7" and a mild cam of course. This is also the first time I am ready to vote in the BOTM and can't figure that one out either....John

My only thought is you can put too much chrome on a bike, I like chrome but I think you need contrast. I almost went with a chrome swingarm but I'm to the point of too much, sometimes bikes look like they threw the catalog at it. I had covers on my swingarm and took em off. JMO

I didn't do a chrome swingarm because I like the contrast with the black swingarm and rest of the chrome on the rear end.[8D]
I now have HD script chrome axle covers on the bike and it looks even better than in my sig pic!
