I got into a small argument over "having wax on ur painted parts", the other party says washing your bike with tide cloth detergent is good, it stripps wax dirt debri an road oils, but yet color preserves and protect. I said no way, it would cause premature rot on all the hoses cable sheeths, cause the wire coatings to become stiff exc....anyone hear od this

Never heard of it,all I know is they make proper cleaning materials [and polishes and waxes] for use on painted surfaces. Leave the Tide in your laundry room.

I know that, who knows how much money in paint an metal care produts are in my garage, point is, tide aint cool

If you want to de grease and strip wax a safe alternative to the over priced auto specific stuff is Dawn dish soap. Used it on my show cars and trucks for years to strip the finish before polishing and waxing.
