Stage 1 upgrade
07Deluxe.
1500.00 parts and labor +/- a few dimes. slip ons, aircleaner upgrade, tuner and labor. Thats' the quoted price of the local dealer. good/bad?shop some more...(only one dealer within 50 miles here..but worth the ride if I save $$$. Or, keep reading and try to do it myself with this crew on this great forum?
update. This just seemed very high to me.I went to the dealer in person to get an exact quote in detail and was reqouted 390.00 labor, tune and aircleaner..and 300.00 for slip ons.700.00 +/-with tax out the door. Service manager told me the original quote by the parts dept. was erroneous. So the whole post is moot but thanks in advance anyhow.
Darn, I was just getting ready to hit the roof about that price unless it incuded some very expensive pipes (800?) a nice breather (200?) a controller (400?) and a dyno tune. With all of that, you should get a discount - package deal.
How about, on the other end, slip-ons (200) breather (100) download (175) and labor (200 tops including the dyno.)
Have you thought about doing it yourself? I'm no mechanic, but I was able to install my new pipes, A/C & fuelpak by myself with basic tools. There's lots of info in the DIY section of the board. I ordered all of the parts on line. Took about an hour to install the pipes and a little less for the A/C.
I don't know too much of what needs to be done for the EFI for a Stage 1 but $1500 sounds waaayyy too high. With just getting the slip ons. If you had said it was for a full exhaust system, maybe, depending on the exhaust. I'd have to agree with smittyP83, and check the DIY forums and maybe you can do it yourself.
