Removed stock pipes and rear exhaust bracket tonight to prepare for new pipes tomorrow.
The right side rear foot peg mounts to the bracket that was holding the rear of the exhaust on and is not reused with new Samson pipes. The peg was mounted in between the stock upper and lower pipes. The left side foot peg has a drop mount of about 1in from the swing arm mountinghole.
My question is do you raise both pegs 1in or try to get the same mount for the right side.
Thanks
Brad
Once you have the pipes off it will make sense, there are mounts on the swing arm you will be using that will be at the same level. I just recently ended up replacing my pegs with food boards as per the other half's request.
The Samson exhaust should run right under the right side peg as it sits, if not then raise it one inch. Decide now if you're going to use the existing peg mounts or go with chrome mounts or the smaller footboards shaped like the riders footboards. Thats a different set up. I kept my rear mounting pegs black with new harley footpegs, I don't know the numbers but when you fold them they're chrome on the bottom and have 'harley davidson' stamped in black on top.
