Default 06 Deluxe Charging System

Been through 2 stators and regulators in the last 6 months. Been about a month since I put the last pair on. Bike seems to be running fine now but pulled my codes this morning just to see if anything showed and I am still getting a low voltage DTC popping up. No check engine or batt light though. I put a brand new battery on it when the first stator and regulator burned up. Here are the 2 codes that were there today:

U1097 Loss of Speedometer Serial Data to ECM
P0562 Battery Voltage Low

I tested for a direct draw and it was negative. Any help is appreciated.

Guessing you have done this, but check your grounds thoroughly.

Does your check engine come on for eight seconds, telling you you have a stored code, after your turn the switch on? It takes 50 starts to clear the stored code, I think.

Low Voltage triggers when the voltage is low for 5 minutes. Check the voltage across the battery terminals at idle. It should be around 13.5, and should jump to 14+ if you double the idle. If it isn't you might have a stator or regulator problem. If it is within range, it sounds like you have an intermittent problem, so I would look at connections.

You also shouldn't be frying stators and/or regulators like you are, which suggests a short.
