Default Gas Tanks

I am looking for a fuel tank for a 2005 Softail and am not sure what years are compatible with the 05. I have heard 04's thru 07's will work, but am not sure. Looking on fleabay, most say 00-06, but I'm not convinced that is fact. Does anyone know for sure what works with what?

According to the parts catalogue, the '05's tank is part no. 61625-01D

It certainly a different part no. for the 2000 fatboy, so there must have been some changes. Which model are we talking about?

i put a '05 deuce tank on my '07 nt, both efi bikes...i only had to fabricate a mount for the float and regulator...the gas outlet would differ whether the bike is carbed or efi, but this can be easily replaced

Thanks guys. One of the things I was wanting to avoid was to fabricate something, as in paint, plug and play. As much as they are asking for a used tank on eBay, I will probably just keep the factory tins on it.
