Default Tire Time !

Back in March I bought a 2013 Heritage with 1500 miles on the clock. I now have just over 6000 miles on it and the rear tire is being replaced. The 2013 Slim I traded in on the Heritage needed a rear tire at 6000 miles, also.

I find it a bitter pill to swallow that motorcycle rear tires can't be engineered to last longer, considering the prices we pay for a premium tire. I probably could have put another couple hundred miles plus, but I would rather err on the side of safety and not push the miles issue down to the last few miles. My hide/life is worth more to me than that !

I'm going back with a Michelin Comm II. I've talked to a few riders that have experience with that tire, all good and my Indy is running that tire on his bike and reports great mileage, good handling wet or dry. Actually, sounds almost too good to be true, some of the mileage a couple of guys are reporting.

What kind of mileage are you's guys getting on this tire (Michelin Comm II) when running it on the back of your softails ?

I have a MC II on the rear of my Springer. I am not hard on things but I have gotten around 15k on my other tires that I have used before I had to put on new tires. Right now I am approaching 12k and it hardly shows any wear. When my front tire wears out, I'll put a MC II on there also.

I have a 2013 Heritage with original tire, 5,700 miles on it. And we are heading up to the Black Hills in the morning. I believe I have at least 50% thread left.

The factory Dunlop tires have a terrible wear to them. I have never had a Dunlop that lasted any amount of time.

I have a brand new 240 for my Breakout sitting in my closet. All of my clothes smell like new tire lol.

Dunlop's E3 is another one to consider. I'm on my second one. 13,000 on the first and I changed a little early for a 2,000 mile trip. '09' Heritage.

Wow, 10,000 on both rear tires, and the front one still looks fine at 23,000 - stock Dunlop WW tires. Maybe it's the straight Florida roads but I never hear any of my friends complain about their tires not lasting long.

Put on my Set of Commands II last summer.. Now with 10,600 miles on them and I just went to the garage to check them with the ol Tire gauge.....

Rear has almost 4/32nd's and the front has a hair under 3/32nd's left..

At first I wasn't happy with the wear on the MC II's as these tires had wear more the first 5k than the last 5k??

I am 64 and ride pretty mild VS some others..

Might get 14-15K out of both of them?? The front is not going to last 20k at present rate of wear like the 402's...

My first four rears Lops (401's) all needed replaced right at 10K and the Two Fronts Lops
(402's) I change at 20k, but both of them could have went another 3-4-5K

They are Good Riding down the roads that have grooves cut in them and tar snakes.
I'll add when riding in Town and making turns at intersections that have Big Tar snakes You'll feel Loose.. First time that happened I thought I had a Flat tire...

They do ride Firmer than the Lops.. noticed it for the first couple 100 miles, then you just forget about it as you get used to it.

My Rear is cupping on the left side only,??? never had the Lops do that..

over-all they are GOOD tires, They IMO are better than the LOP's in most ways. BUT -- I Guess the Looseness on tar Snakes when turning in town and The Front tire wearing faster than the Lops is my only reason I won't say they are GREAT tires...
