Having not been on this forum for quite some time, this has surely been hashed over many times . My question is: What did Harley Davidson do to correct the crappy starter problem that 07's-09 , I'm guessing , had , to correct that?

 

I have a 2007. No problems so far. What's supposed to be crappy about it? News to me.

 

No problems with my '09'. Approaching 40,000 miles.

 

No problems with my 08

 

This starter issue is news to me. Chateau, what was wrong with it?

 

When the engine is hot and the bike sits for just a few minutes, it builds compression. Sometimes on hot restart it kicks back on the starter and makes a horendous sound. Problem was corrected in 09, come to find out. My Indy says compression release-type cams are the answer. Glad you guys are not experiencing this problem.
