I am new here, and just purchased a 2014 Heritage Classic. Love the bike but need to make a change to the exhaust.
My question is by changing the exhaust will it void the warranty.
I am looking at some V & H slip on.
I hope it will not be an issue cause the stock pipes suck.
If the dealer does the work, it may be covered. You have to ask the dealer. Mine will cover any they install. If some one else does it, no way will it be covered.
When I got my bike, I wanted to change the exhaust. My dealer told me that if they did it, that it would be covered under warranty, so before I picked it up, they took care of it for me. Not sure all dealers would do that but mine did. Maybe you should ask your dealer just to make sure.
Just a clarification, the slipons will never be covered by your HD warranty, they will be covered by their manufacturer. Usually the rest of the bike will still be covered if the dealer does the install, but check with the dealer.
Thanks for the responses. I suppose I need to check with the dealer.
I was hoping I could avoid paying the dealer prices by purchasing the pipes from someone else and installing them myself but I do not want to void the HD manufacturers warranty
I asked my dealer about affecting the warantee before they installed the V&H BSS, SE pro tuner, and SE air intake. I had this done before excepting the bike (7 miles on the click). They said since they were doing it warantee would not suffer.
