So I need to vent a lil about Samson pipes. I recently, about 5 weeks ago found an issue with my 39" cholo pipes(baffled). I was hearing some rattle noise come from the bottom of the muffler and come to find out the baffles inside the pipe came unwelded. So I called Samson, send them pictures and now I seem to be on a waiting list. I call the idividual that I have spoke with at least 2x a week to see what up. I seem to be getting nowhere. I hope Im not getting the run around from these guys. Don't get me wrong I love the product but sure is taking awile to get them and getting impatient. Thanks for listening.

Memo
Hey Memo,
We'll get you taken care of asap. Did you send in the defective muffler by chance?
Also did you talk to Buck in sales? If not please give him a call, I am going in there from the shop in a few minutes and I'll make sure that we get this taken care of for you as quickly as possible.
We have a new chrome plater that is extremely reliable and we're getting amazing turn around times from them with hexavalent chrome. Sorry for the wait times. Oh and one last question are the 39" cholos for a softail or a dresser and if they're for a softail is it the left or the right? I just want to know in case there is anything I can do to personally step in and speed things up for you.
I am on the Outside in this, so I'll be quick, Samson pipes seems to have been among the best for yrs...
BUT for Whatever Reason,, as of late they are Losing Ground Fast,,, in Delivery and quality control as I read it in here...
Brain --- Your Company neeeeeeeds to be PRO-ACTIVE--- NOT RE-ACTIVE in getting HDF members/Riders your Product.
Most Tims ""HONESTY""" is the best Policy.... if your company is having Problems... TELL US what's going on and when they'll be Back to a TOP-NOTCH Company Again...
Ok you guys can cry all you want about Samson but I do not think any one is going to top my experience. 8 and a half months ago back in the first week of January I ordered a set of 39 inch with removable tips and baffles . A few days ago I get a call your pipes have been shipped wow I'm pretty happy . The pipes arrived today and they sent me the wrong ones they sent me the ones with out the removable tips and baffles wow what a bummer . Well I can't bash Samson for this blunder the place that I ordered from made the mistake but it still took me over eight months. I called Samson and they had a set of the ones I want and are shipping them out and putting a hold on the money on my credit card and it will be removed when they get the set back. The place I bought them from gave me there ups shipping number to send them back to Samson at his expense. If it weren't for bad luck I would have no luck at all can any one top this
I got a personal unsolicited tour on a Sunday morning from a nice man who I believe is part owner. Top notch facility in Sturgis for sure. I bought Hell Raisers for my SG months before rally and wouldn't consider any other manufacturer even though they forgot to stamp Samson on my pipes (I tell people I made them just to see the looks). I don't work for them or have any other affiliation other than to say let them get fully set up with in house chroming and I think you'll see turn around times decrease in the future.
Thanks again for taking the time to show me around the plant, much appreciated!

Brian, thanks for the response back. I am dealing with Buck L. and he is very busy everytime I call him. Keeps telling me I'm next in line and I try and call him at least twice a week sometimes 3 x 's. They are on a 06 softail, I have sent pics to Buck and it is on both mufflers. I want to get this straight, I am not bashing Samson at all, he'll I fell in love with your product and enjoy them very much!!! I just want to get back on my two wheels asap as well. I did mention to Buck that I will send the old mufflers once I get my new ones. Thanks again Brian.

The independent I deal with pushed me away from Samsons. Quality and service issues were the reasons given. Recommended Pythons. And, that's what I went with. I listen to what Independents have to say. They're dealing with orders every day of the week.

Semper Fi!
Hey E8USMCRET,
I believe it was me that gave you the tour because I remember you telling me about your heat shields not being stamped. It was a pleasure to show you around so you can see just what all goes into making a set of pipes doing everything in house. You're always welcome to stop by anytime and if you make it out to the 75th Sturgis Rally we're planning on having a pretty get together here at the plant.
We take great pride in manufacturing a quality exhaust so not sure why anyone is saying there is a quality issue. I know that we have had issues with delivery times and that is finally resolved with the addition of a quality hexavalent chromer we started using.
I believe in being honest about everything so there is something rather important that I'm sure everyone will know about soon. We were actually working with Paughco in Carson City, Nevada and now they are holding $157,000.00 worth of our product and refusing to release it. All because of a trucking company we were using pulled a bait and switch and is trying to charge us literally 4 times the amount of what we agreed upon and refused to accept our payment. This company is called Rude Transportation and they are illegally trying to use some Tarrif that has been null and void since 2007. We don't owe Paughco a dime but because the trucking company tried to name them in their scam to get money out of us they are holding all of that product hostage. Sad part is they have had it for literally months and it should have all be chrome plated by now and shipped to all of our customers that have been waiting.
I'm not part owner, just the Plant Manager and I do all the R&D for new products and make sure things get made in a timely manner without sacrificing quality.
@Memo it's my pleasure to try and assist you with anything I can to speed things up. I'm mainly here for technical stuff but I always try and step in to resolve things if it's within my powers. I would definitely suggest holding onto your pipes till we can get those out to you.
Thank you,
Brian

It sounds like Samson is trying to make things right. I'm Operations Manager for a motor company and ALL companies experience quality issues at sometime. It's part of manufacturing but it's how these issues are handled that sets companies apart from one another. Give Samson a chance to run it thru their RMA system and remember there are many steps and departments involved with the process...it all takes time!
