Default Breakout lowered?????

My wife wants a Breakout, but she can only tip toe the bike in stock form. They tell us at one dealer there's no way to lower it. At another dealer they tell me that you can, but only a 1". I ride a street glide so I don't read a lot of forums on here about soft tails, so I'm asking for you guys help. Can you lower a Breakout? What do I need to it with? How much will it cost? I know we can get a different seat, but she rides a lowered fatboy now and wants the bike lowered. Thank you very much, Mark

I would think the shock on the breakout are pretty much the same as the ones on the other softails. If that's the case them you can get about 2 inches with lowering bolts in the shocks and add an extra inch or so with a seat and you're 3 inches in.

You can buy a lowering kit fairly cheap. Depends on the quality of the ride you want. You can spend 100$ with a lil bit rougher ride... or spend 1200$ for an air ride like a shotgun shock and you can raise it up and down to make it sit wherever you like and it will ride like a Cadillac.

Here's a couple of links you can check out

I'm fixing to lower mine and have determined 2" is about as low as you can go with a lowering kit. Shotgun shock can get u even lower

Nope, no way at all to lower the Breakout. LOL

Any of the parts/methods that work for lowering all current Softails will work on the Breakout. It is no different in that regard.

1) Remove lowering parts from Fatboy.
2) Install on Breakout.
3) Smile.

An HD Reduced Reach Seat (but there are other types too) is available for Breakout and will lower a bit giving more back support, plus various type of shocks (e.g. Progressive, Shotgun Shocks or lowering bolts) will help. I'd use a combination of seat and shocks 'cause if you lower too much using only shocks the risk is the bike will become too stiff and/or scrape pegs when leaning. That's all.
