HAHA. now we got a reflector ****! i rode a bike all summer without reflectors, horn, turn signals and the headlight worked when it wanted to and the brakes were iffy... no problems. oh and it scrapped the exhaust on right turns, was raked and 21 inch front wheel with a 80 tire.

i LOVED every minute of riding that bike.

Do you really think that a little reflector is going to save you? IMO NO, if they cant see a rider and the motorcycle, they're not going to see a little reflector.

plus I detail as a hobby, so they're a real PITA to clean, wax/ seal, and wash around thoroughly every time. And with time paint will fade around them if you want to take them off later they'll leave spots and residue, and the little edges of the adhesive like to collect dust and etc. that can damage paint. Plus the bike just looks so much better without them!

Default Speaking of Reflectors

I don't mean to be the Debbie-Downer here but technically isn't removing factory reflectors illegal? Has anyone here received a citation or ticket for doing this type of modification? Don't get me wrong, i agree with everyone else that a bike looks better with them removed... Once i pick up my new Harley, that will be something to consider for modification.

Then next time you see a thread about removing reflectors just troll your *** along to the next thread and realize it's not someone looking for an opinion.

Ok, I've thought of removing the side reflectors, what is the best way to go about it. I'm cool with the rear one and want to leave it on. But the side ones need to go, do I just rip them off or take some fishing line and work it back & forth. Share some tips on doing this in a clean manner.

i used a heat gun to soften things up. i ran it around the edge so the fork tube would warm up. don't leave it in one spot very longs constant movement is key! then sone fishing line and to most of the goop off i ran it agains the bike then worked back and forth down. if you get the reflector and metal good and warm there is very little to no effort in removal and there will be almost nothing there to clean up with goof off.
