Hi There, can you please confirm the part number ? I am sure the 99-05 FXST will be different than the 06-09 ones because of the fender width (wide tires).
This unit is only a taillight direct replacement. You remove the OE taillight, taillight bulb, and plug the new unit in, install the new taillight lens and you're done. There is no equalizer or turn signal controller. Takes about 10 minutes. The ~50 LEDs are far brighter than the OE light bulb.
