Default Power Commander V

PC V for 2011 Heritage Softtail/Softtail deluxe. Model 1500-7 complete unit with less than 800 miles on it. $225.

Hey bros, anybody have the time to give their 2 cents? Bought a stock 2009 roadking classic with efi. Want to start out with performance pipes, and air filter. Besides your reccomendations for your taste, whats the deal with autotune and power commander vs. getting a dyno after install. Today a guy told me that bike would adjust on its own after about 2 weeks. Anyone wanna takle this one?cle

Have an '09 Ultra with the 96. Put on hi-flow SE and 4" Rinehardt pipes. Shop says we can run one or the other without fuel management so also installed the PC V and had it tuned/dynoed. Got it back and it rattled the valves at 3300rpm and tossed and engine light. Took it back for a second go on the dyno and it came back a pig. Reset the PC V and did seat of the pants testing and adjusted fuel flow on my laptop with consultation from PC V help line. 100% better than what the dyno tossed back and getting exact same mileage (38 mpg) as when the "pros" worked on it. Will flat scoot now. For what it's worth.

Default have V&H straight shots.. dont bother with PCV

I put V&H straight shots on my dyne 09 lo. I have them on my carbureted 06 sporty and loved them. They pop like a movie theatre candy counter on the Dyna. Advised that a PCV could cure it. PCV does not have a map for V&H straight shots. Dyno'd it.. Dyno guy could not get rid of the pop,, and finally, after several attempts, test rides, returns to his shop. He just stuck in the Dyna map closest to what i have - screaming eagle slip ons. Pop is no better than before. Power is no better than before. Gas mileage is noticeably worse than before. I assess no blame here. Just a conclusion. If you have V&H straight shots on a Dyna, and if it pops, dont waste your money on a PCV. Take them off and go back to stock - or talk to somebody else. PCV cannot handle V&H straight shots. And PCV in the mode of stock motor, stage I air, and stage I Harley pipes - leads to major loss of gas mileage with no improvement in performance with the V&H straight shots. Maybe stay stock Harley (god.. awful thought).
