HawgFoot that is a very cool bike, how did you raise the front of the gas tank. Does someone make a kit for it? thanks Glenn.
When I decided to do the tank mods I wanted to raise the tank too to make itflow into the seat a littlebetter.
We actually cut the mounting tangs off and fabbed new ones an 1-1/2" longer and welded them in.
The reasonI didn't use one of the liftkits was to stay away from using double bolt locations cause I had the idea to make a decorative piece to fit over the tang and knewI wanted to chrome it.
So I just redid the whole thing and then took some cardboard and started drawing out and cutting some shapes til I finally decided to use the one you see in the pics.
A friend has a computerized plazma table and after he scanned and put my designs in he cut the steel from 1/8" thickstock and I dressed and buffed them out before going to the chromer.
This company sells the kits but you can DIY them pretty easy.

I just wanted to stop by and let my fellow Deuceriders know that I dropped off my Deuce at the painter today. I'm doing a full custom paint job complete with a new front fender and a rear fender fabricated to my specs. Both fenders will be cut, welded and shaped before being painted. I'm adding some new metal to the rear fender to make it longer and more curved to better follow the natural curvature of the rear wheel. I'm going to have custom graphics cut into the rear fender with flush mount LED lights installed in the cut outs. It should look pretty sick if the finished job matches the concept sketches we came up with. I'll post some before and after pics as soon as I get it back.
The only bad thing about this whole project, besides the cost of the job, is that I'm now without a bike for the next 3 - 4 weeks and it's finally riding weather here now! [sm=headbang.gif]
Well I guess there's nothing more I can do now but wait. Man this is going to be a long 4 weeks!!!

Nice run at the BOTM my man. No way is that a fourth place
bike. I guess this was the "Bobber" month. Lately it seems to
be a contest of which bike they sell the most at the dealer is
the winner. Anyways. You're still a winner to us Deuce riders.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
It was fun to watch.
Also thanks go out to all who voted for me.
Lolife and his bobber took an early lead and kept pulling away from the very begining, congrats again if you are reading this thread.
Crazy, can't wait to see what you have in store for us after your latest mods.
Thanks to all again,
