Thank you for the welcome everyone.Yes,the noise seems to be an issue everwhere lately.I had 2" drag pipes on my Sporty that I eventually took off because of unwanted police attention. All in all,the cops are pretty decent around here,(near reading,Pa.).Sounds like you ran into one that had a stick up his a$$.Maybe his old lady was bangin' a guy who rode Harley, lol.
Yeah!!
He was an azz to say the least. He was going around my bike
saying my mirrors are illegal, my license plate holder was illegal,
no reflectors, which he then told me it's 150.00 for each one
missing . And there should be four. My rear and front turn signals
were too close together and last but not least, the pipes. I at least
got a little pleasure from seeing the other two cops looking at me
with a look on their face as if to tell me that he WAS being a DICK.
Damn, Crazy. I wanna laugh because the story is so rediculous, but because it's true, all I can do is shake my head in amazement. I don't understand why people like that have such a problem with motorcycles. I'm glad to see that the other cops weren't joining him in his nonsense. As for your question about the baffles, you could maybe contact the manufacturer and ask them if they'll fit. Aren't there universal baffles out there? I'm sorry if it's a stupid question, but I could have sworn that I've seen them. But I could be wrong.
I found this on www.bigcitythunder.com. Hope it helps. NOTE: We do have an application for the Vance & Hines Big Radius pipes and for the Hooker Troublemaker pipes. The Vance & Hines Big Radius application is Thunder Monster baffle 2002 and for the Hooker Troublemaker Thunder Monster baffle 2001.
It might be the same part #.
He was telling me that they need to be at least 20" apart.
L2R, I called the tech at Hooker and the inside diameter for
the Troublemakers are 2.45" as opposed to 2 1/8" for the
Big Radius. So much for that. I might go with the Big shot
staggered with the quiet baffles. Not to sure yet. So my pipes
might be comming up for sale soon....
