Alright guys. I love my Deuce, but I was looking at the '08 CVO Springers. Luckily I can't afford one right now, or I might would have to seriously consider going the same way Deuce Bigalow did. Those are some beautiful bikes. Somethin' about the Springer front end does it for me. Maybe I could just throw a springer front end on my Deuce and have the best of both worlds.....

Sounds good Buzz
I'd like to see what that young buck cop, who thinks he's going to
save the world, would do upagainst a seasoned southern highway patrolman. I would put my money on the patrolman.
It's funny, the next day I was out riding and past three cops and they
never even looked at me. Go figure........

I recently got an urge lately as well. I came closeto getting a friend
for my Deuce last week.A totally different route though. I almost bought a ZX14 and was going to add a wide tire kit (240mm) with an extended swingarm. But my insurance convinced me other wise.[&:]

DB,
How would you compare the Deuce and the Springer? Was your Deuce injected or carbed? If carbed, do you like the injected more or less? Which has better ride quality? Sorry about all the questions. I'm just a curious guy. I'm hoping you say the Springer sucks and you wish you would have kept the Deuce. That would make me feel a lot better and probably make my wife happy because she's wanting a new car. If you say the Springer is the best thing in the world, that car might wind up being put off due to a rash decision on my part.

I'm sorry to give you "bad" news............
but I do feel that the Screamin' eagle springer IS the best thing in the world! lol

my '06 Deuce was injected, so I have no complaints about fuel injection. It starts and runs great everytime, and (as long as you have a computer) is very easy to tune regardless of which tuner you use (PCIII, SERT, etc..)
I like the ride of the springer better, for some reason it's smoother than the Deuce, it must be the springer front end, because the CVO springer is already lowered in the rear....

what really sold me on the springer is the way it felt when I sat on it at the dealer, my deuce felt like I was sitting "in" it rather than on it, and I loved that feeling, well the springer feels even more like I'm sitting "in" it than the Deuce!

If I had one complaint about the springer, it would be that the handlebars need a little more pullback for me, I'm 5' 7" and since I don't want to change the handlebars (1 1/4" bars, with internal wiring), I'm looking at installing some pullback risers, the problem is that nobody makes pullback risers for 1 1/4" handlebars!
my only option right now is to use a set of SE Deuce risers, they pullback about 2", ormaybe a little more, and rise about 1" taller than the stock springer risers (I have a friend that just bought an '04 SE Deuce, so I measured his) and the SE Deuce uses 1 1/4" bars.

but other than that, I have NO regrets!

I hate to say it , but I don't miss my Deuce one bit!
If I were on the fence about this I would just go to the dealer and sit on the springer..............[8D]

Bigelow - if you are going to continue spreading this Springer loving, Deuce bashing rubbish throughout our house, we may have to ask you to leave... you are always welcome here as a friend but you must keep your Springer loaded yap shut - we have lost enough of our beloved Deuce riders this year!!

Actually what I am saying is - Damn I wish I could have one of those too - but this Deuce will be welded to my *** as long as possible - Glad you are enjoying the new ride.

Damnit, DB. You're gonna get me in trouble with my wife. My dad just went and traded his beloved Fatboy in on a '08 Ultra Classic, so that new bike itch is going through me right now. I'm gonna have to stay away from the dealership for a little while. If I came back with a new bike, I'd probably wind up losing half my stuff. So my new bike would wind up being a unicycle with a motor that has one cyclindercause she'd be takin' one of the wheels and a cylinder!
