Fishing line in a sawing motion, then you will have to clean the glue/sticky stuff off with something....its not that hard.

I took a rigid plastic spatula. Slowly pried one of the
corners up and then pulled the hole thing off in one
piece. Best mod for free in my opinion. Instantly makes
the front forks look chunkier.
