We just ordered a Mustang Solo seat with the drivers backrest for my wifes Sportster. She sat on another Sportster that had one with the driver's backrest and loved the way it felt. We've heard a lot of good things about Mustang as far as quality and comfort go. I agree with Flibuoy that it doesn't reallyl help with the question for the Deuce, but it says something about the company in general.

Mark (firestarter) also has the Mustang Solo with rider backrest, as well as the pillion and passenger backrest - he cannot say enough good things about it, really loves the comfort... not sure I am crazy about the look but I am sure it grows on you. I have a Danny Gray which resembles the HD Brawler, actually I have the pan now - ripped the cover and foam off and am looking at making some changes to it. It was a fairly comfortable seat - my azz could last for a gas stop but it just sat me too high.

flibuoy - thanks for your opinions - it is what makes this country great, the freedom to voice them... I think enough has been said about it.

But as for the forum becoming lie any other thread, well I disagree for this simple reason... this is "Our House" the Deuce riders come to look at pics, post pics, whatever, but in between posting pics and looking at pics we sit around on the couch and shoot the breeze just like family, one brought together by 5 (or 6) little letters FXSTD(I).

Keep posting brothers and sisters, keep riding your Deuce and keep talking about it here.

Best to all,
Buzz

well said voodoo. i'm a lurker myself, too much time spent working and riding to get on a computer much. got some minor mods in the works soon and i'll try to post pics.
i had an 06 sporty 1200C before my duece. i put the mustang wide vintage solo on it for a little while. the seat is very well made and comfortable, but i thought that it sat me up way too high, so i pulled it after about a week(500 miles or so) and put the stocker back on and ended up trading it in shortly after that

I'm hearing lots of good things about the Mustang seats. I know
Deuce Bigelow has one. Perhaps you can pm him for more info.

i asked in softail forum but got no replies looking for a GOOD COMFORTABLE SOLO SEAT if there is one for my 06 deuce any help TIA

yup!

Mustang vintage solo, I also have the passenger pad for it.
very comfortable seat, I can ride all day long and not have to stop.

but most of the time the passenger pad is off and the fender bib is on (like in my sig pic), I modified the passenger pad by mounting the Deuce sissy bar to the bottom of the passenger pad, now whenever I want to ride 2 up, it takes about 15 sec to put the passenger on and go!

OK so I woke up in a bad mood and thought I'd look at some Deuce pictures. Turns out the picture thread seems to be turning into a just another thread. There is lots of good info that may be better posted in another area so others can benefit since not everyone looks at the Deuce picture thread. I am not the forum police, nor a deputy even...just MHO.

Now...let me really hang it out there and get my flame shield even further up...I have 6 grandchildren...5 are old enough to be good readers and love riding with me. You know where this is going. While I am all for expressing ourselves, our needs and tastes differ for sure as shown by our rides. This IS America and I spent 25 months insuring we have a freedom of expression (Please remember I have that freedomalso). There are some artistic talents that seemingly to me are best left private. The tank paint is terrific, looks factory and is unique to say the least...but I question the validity of expressing it so publicly. I wonder if that bike goes to parent-teacher night or rides the girlfriend/wife/"significant other"to church. I try not to rant and hope others are tolerant of my quirks in life...I mean at 62 should I be even riding? Of course at 62 I have had almost enough time to mature to the point of not needing to see/say/ write words my mom classified as forbidden. Recently I watched a Discovery channel special that tried to link Hell's Angels with the hippy movement because both rejected society's values....the relationship did not convince me of their kinship. I hope I haven't stepped on too many toes here...but had to drop my 2 cents.

I don't think the Deuce Picture Thread is turning into just another thread. People are posting pictures in here constantly and ideas are being thrown around all the time. Sure, there is casual conversation amongst fellow Deuce owners, but that's a good thing. The thread hasn't lost it's validity, though. People are posting new pictures of their bikes/mods and others are asking questions about those bikes/mods. I think I would be disappointed if I looked through this thread and saw nothing but pictures and there was no feedback or comments on a bike's mods. That's my opinion on this thread. I say keep the thread as it is.

As far as the tank emblem goes you are referring to, I understand your point. I imagine it was purchased to make a bold statement knowing it would offend some. I can't say for sure, but I doubt he rides that bike to church or to school functions if he has children. People who are offended by that emblem would also be offended by any movie rated PG-13. The world cannot and should not be sensored. The tank emblem on his bike is one way of him expressing himself. If someone takes offense to it, they should simply just look the other way. Just as they should anything else that's offensive, unless it is shoved in your face or down your throat. We should let freedom be freedom. People have the freedom to express themselves and they have the freedom to turn to something else if find something offensive.

Those are just my opinions on your opinions. Hope this doesn't get taken the wrong way, as I'm not out to make anyone mad.
well said...

I totally agree that if you don't like it, then don't look.
nobody is "forcing" you to look at it, and nobody can tell andycg to change his tank emblem!

and why would you assume thateverybody goesto church?
I've had 13 years of catholic school, in those 13 years I've had enough church to last me a lifetime!

now the only time I'll step foot in one is to attend a wedding or funeral, and that's it! [sm=escape.gif]

My new ride. First Harley ever. '04 Deuce with V&H short pipes. New mirrors, frontturn signal lights, baffles for the extremely loud pipesand 170 rear tire being installed. Will be looking for a nice detachable windshield that doesn't detract.
