after having got caught out in the rain a couple times in the past few weeks I had some deep cleaing required... deep cleaning means getting the hands and fingers in places my fat mitts don't easily go - my hands are really aching this morning from all the small cuts, but the bike is Shining like a Diamond in a Goats A$$

We want pics Bigelow!!

I modified the passenger pad by mounting the Deuce sissy bar to the bottom of the passenger pad, now whenever I want to ride 2 up, it takes about 15 sec to put the passenger on and go!
DB, how did you mount the sissy bar to the bottom of the Mustang Vintage passenger seat? Do you still have to use the under fender stock support plate and mount the sissy bar on top of the three threaded studs that stick up through the top of therear fender? If not, what do you do? Does the sissy bar just lay on top of the rear fender? If so, how do you protect the paint?

I'm not using the Deuce sissybar bracket, it's removed from the fender.

I removed thevinyl coverfrom the passenger pad and bolted the Deuce sissybar directly to the bottom of the passenger pad frame, I used the shortest bolts that would work with the spacers that were going to be required to get the sissybar to sit straight and level, I reused the locking nuts from the Deuce sissybar mount on my new bolts, the bolts just barely stick out from the bottom of the frame.
what I did to be safe was to put the rubberplugs back into the holes for the sissybar mount in the fender, the bolts from sissybar on the passenger pad barely touch the rubber plugs in the fender, so the paint is protected......

I checked it with the heaviest person that I could find to sit on the passenger pad to confirm that they weren't going to go down any further than the did with no one sitting on it!

the mustang passenger pad slips into the bracket on the back of the solo seat just like normal, and screws down in the rear the same as it did before I mounted the sissybar to it, it's solid and doesn't move when mounted to the bike.

Yep, it's a Harley kit. From the 2003 catalog (the only one I have handy right here) it's #16319-01A. I had to buy the oil tank separately.
