Default Vance & Hines fishtails

I am considering replacing my SE II slip-ons with the V&H fishtails but I am not sure which way to go, true duals or the slip-ons. Does anybody have any input on the pros & cons of each. Springerfan

Go with a good slip on muffler and you won’t lose any bottom end torque
Like you will with the true duals. I say this based on personal experience.
I started out with true duals and took them off.

Great lookin' bikes everybody. Love the flathead! Here is an intermediate picture of mine after the engine build. She is now 103", heads and pistons machined by Baisley High Performance, Wood TW6-6 cams, Zipper air cleaner and Fat Cat exhaust all installed by Doc in Orlando who then did the dyno tuning as well. She came off the dyno at 101 hp and 107 tq. I am tearing here down tomorrow for paint and powdercoat. I will post some good pictures of her here in a month or so when she is back together. I can't wait to see it myself.

Thanks Barry, that was exactly the info that I was looking for. The SE IIs that I currently run are ok but I am looking for a deeper sound and I like the look of the V&H fishtail slipons. I have never heard what they sound like but most of the V&H systems that I have heard sounded good to me. The V&H site has sound bites for many of thier systems but not the fishtails. Springerfan

Springerfan,

I have the V&H Fishtail slipons (no baffles) on my '05 Springer Classic and they sound as good as they look. When I put them on I also installed the V&H Fuelpak and K&N high flow air cleaner. Bike was stock prior to aforementioned upgrades and I feel I got a few additional HP out of that combination.

Something a little different here. Apes and a two-into-one on a classic. Nice job!
