Default Wheels to the Wall Pledge Ride

Wheels To The Wall Pledge Ride
The goal of Wheels To The Wall is to recognize one of Western North Carolina’s military veterans by sponsoring their trip to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC. Cost, including 4 nights hotel lodging, gas, and meals is projected to be $800.
Rolling Thunder is our nation’s longest running tribute to the veterans of our foreign conflicts. The Rolling Thunder trip for Memorial Day weekend departs on Thursday, May 26, with events planned for Friday May 27, and Saturday May 28. The Rolling Thunder Parade is Sunday May 29. The trip returns Monday May 30.
Wheels To The Wall is sponsored by Smoky Mountain Harley Owners Group to support a deserving military veterans ride and participation in the 2016 Rolling Thunder Parade. Rolling Thunder recognizes those Prisoners’ of War and Missing in Action veterans, as well as all other surviving veterans of our nation’s conflicts to maintain the freedoms and privileges that we enjoy as American citizens.
Wheels To The Wall charity fund raiser began in the spring of 2016 as a means of recognizing that not all of Western North Carolina’s military veterans are able to attend Rolling Thunder.
Wheels To The Wall is a 105 mile pledge ride for all motorcyclist to raise funds to sponsor a veteran to Rolling Thunder. Pledges of .25cents per mile, for a total of $26.50 are requested. Donations of other amounts may also be made in support of this event.
Wheels To The Wall pledge ride is planned for April 23, 2016. This is a guided ride leaving from Harley-Davidson of Asheville at 11:00 am. A lunch stop is planned. Return to Harley-Davidson of Asheville is expected to be by 3:00pm.
Smoky Mountain Harley Owners Group is a nonprofit (501 status applied for) organization of motorcycle enthusiasts who ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Smoky Mountain Harley Owners Group was first organized in 1987 sponsored by Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson. Today, Smoky Mountain Harley Owners Group is the largest Harley-Davidson specific motorcycle chapter in Western North Carolina. Smoky Mountain Harley Owners Group is sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Asheville.
