Lake Lure Pics
****** nows the man well. As a MOF Oldschol, in that perticular pic, was asking me some questions aboutbuilding homes. I seem to recall someone talking alot more than I at the table (shake n bake). Although I'm not one to sit around and look at each other, try to get to know people a little better, and they love to talk about themselves.LOL.
That would have been Tbone not me.

Heavy you kow I am just joking with you right............us South Carolina people are just friendlier than those NC people.

I got along perfect with you..............of course we were the only two who could understand one another.

I hate to tell you this but youwere not the best looking one there Tbone.........you were the brainless one though.

I told you I would loan you my Pink Leather jacket. I wasn't going fast enough thru the Mtns. to get cold.

This is for Mark & Amy in case they didn't see it
on the other thread.

BTW, THE GENEVA INN SUCKS....
When we got there, Amy mentioned that she thought the price was 60 bucks a night. When I went and paid, it was 102 bucks a night. Now, I have no problem paying a hundred bucks a night but when the place is an ABSOLUTE FREAKIN' DUMP, I was pissed.
Amy slept with her clothes on, we had no microwave, refrigerator or 2 person garden tub that was suppose to be in the room. The place was freakin' nasty.
Not only that, we went to a restaurant called Gennys. The last time we ate there, it took over a hour and a half to get our food... granted, they were busy but this time, it took almost the same and there were only 3 people in the entire restaurant when we got there. (and one of them already had their food)
The prices were absurd, (Amy's and my bill was 23 bucks for breakfast, she got a BLT and I had 2 eggs, porkchop and toast) The owner was rude, the service terrible, the prices ridiculous and all under the guise of religion. Every cup had some religious saying, it was sickening the amount of verbage they were pushing.
We definitely won't go back there again and I highly doubt we'll ever go back to Lake Lure, period. They closed the bar, Margaritaville and the new owners apparently have made it very clear that they do not want bikers there.
So what the *** is in Lake Lure then?? We don't ride there, we rode towards Deal's Gap. The community is in general, not biker friendly. The prices for everything are gouging at best. I hated it.
The only good thing was the company.

Sorry to hear that Mark, but I think I tried to tell
everyone that there was MUCH better places up
here in these mountains to hold a meet and greet
get together.
I'll try to help again next year, but I can only help
the willing!
Amy and yourself are real good people with your
hearts in the right place,I feel very bad for you
guys, but I'm glad to hear the meet and greet it
self was great for all"
Next year everyone needs to consider:
http://www.blueridgemotorcyclecamp.com/
I stay there most every weekend April through Oct.
and like I've said before, they cater to motorcyclests
ONLY,they have cabins, tent camping and serve
breakfast and dinner on weekends or when they are
busy on week days as well.. no one who rides a
motorcycle can ever go wrong staying at this place.
I wish you all better luck next year!
PS: Marcia and I would have showed up for the ride as
[b][i][size=2]we were up at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle camp
I don't like to camp either.

Thanks Chuck. We have only been to Lake Lure one other time and I knew from the looks of the Geneva that it wasn't the Hilton. The place was honestly just old that's all. Most places in the Mtns. are. Nexttime we will stay in Asheville or some where like that.
I don't like to camp either.

Amy;
You don't have to camp at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle
camp ground, thats the whole point to staying there.
They have cabins for those who do not like to camp
but would like to have the motorcycle ONLY atmosphere
that you can only get at a motorcycle only facility..
Like I said in my earlyer post, I can only help those
who want to be helped, so the rest is up to you!

Take care young lady...
