Florida laws????
Okay Floridians what is the law on the $10,000medical ins.? Talked to my insurance lady and she was dumber than a box of rocks. Couldn't answer anything. What do I need and what proof? Leaving this weekend for Florida and have to were helmet in Missouri-Tennessee- Mississippi- & Alabama but want to go helmetless in Florida. Any info appreciated. Thanx from helmetlessin Illinois.
If you carry a min. of 10K in medical ins. you can ride without a helmet. I have not once seen that law enforced.. My ins. card has coverages listedon the back. Most folks I know that ride just keep their card with them.
Hope this helps.

+1.. I've yet tohear ofanyone being pulled over for riding without a lid~ However if pulled over for any other reason, youcan be asked to provide proof of insurance~ Again, have yet to hear of this either~ I even provided my insurance card w/ my DL once, just out of habit, and the officer was suprised I even kept insurance on my bike~ He didn't even think twice about that little helmet lawstipulation~ I think they're mostly looking out for the young'ns on bikes~
Don't worry about it. Come on down. Whatever fine you'll pay if you get popped will probably be a wash against what the ins company will charge for the extra coverage. Just be cool when you get here or you wont be invited back.
Thanx for replies, nice bike Ken, have the insurance just don't have it on my ins. card??? I'm comin and don't expect any problems was just curious. Every state is funny about THERE laws. Try to comply but sometimes it's difficult to know what all of them want.
