i'll probably do part of the trail... i hate that the people split the ride in different directions..... i live in tuscumbia , so im close to the shoals area end of trail
I'm in Priceville at present (near Decatur). I'll probably do the trail from Huntsville over to Florence. For me, it's just a ride to honor those that walked the trail. I am part Cherokee, though like many I have no records to prove it. Just what my Momma and GrandMa told me. At one time, they had a picture of my great-great grandmother. Maybe it was great-great-great (I don't really know). But, she was a full blood Cherokee. They have all passed and I do not have that picture.
Anyone doing the Trail of Tears when it comes through?
I sometimes do it but there are so many people who get their first bike the week before then go on the ride makes for some pretty scary riding.
I like to sneak up there from Decatur on Hwy 20 and get out of Mcfarlan park before the main ride shows up. I might go all the way to Waterloo this time.
My last post in this forum is still on the last page at least for the moment. I have moved to Huntsville from Priceville, so this is an update to that tidbit. The weekend is looking good. I would be riding now, except for work (still have to pay the bills).
