I am going to be taking my first overnight trip this weekend. I live in Nashville and have to go to DC for work so I am making an event out of it. I think I am going to some pretty popular spots and wonder if anyone has recommendations of good campsites.
The first day I plan to ride from Nashville to somewhere around the Great Smokey Mountains. I would like to stay close to 40 or 81 so that I don't go too far out of the way.
The second night I am hoping to stop somewhere around the Natural Bridge in Virginia.
After that I will be in DC for a few days. On the ride home I am going to try to get to Roanoke after work on Thursday. I will probably just stay in a hotel that night.
Then I am going to meet my wife and kids in Fall Creek Falls, TN for a the weekend before heading home.
I am hoping for a great trip and a few campsite recommendations might be a big help.
Can't go wrong finding a place around the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge,Tn area , ex.407(14 mileswest of the I-81 juncton)off I-40. Wife and I usually stay in a motel (don't think the Harley would do so well trying to pull the Coleman PUP)so I can't tell you the name of any campground. There are a couple in Pigeon Forge on the main drag a couple out hwy.321 towards Townsend, not sure but they may be some not too faroff the interstate.
