Hey when you get back on the road let me know. I am in Slidell. Pretty much recovered here but the SLidell traffic is at a standstill 24/7. I want my small northshore city back. Will be like this for years!!
hey i live in alaska but i own a place in picayune, ms and i bought my softail deluxe in baton rouge last august. my bike is still there when i come down to pick it up id like to get in touch maybe go for a ride. my friend lives in carriere and he says picayune has thripled in size and he says the same thing it will be like that for years and maybe never change? it just amazing what has happened down there or i should say unbeleivable, im hoping with in the next 3 years to move to that area but maybe i should rethink it i was liking the small townn thing.
Things are totally different down here now. All areas north of Lake Ponchartrain now have populations tripled what they had before Katrina. Everyone has left New Orleans and MS coast. It sucks living here but wife has great job soo...... Let me know when you are here. We will ride!! Email me? PS I was born in Anchorage, AK!!!! Air Force brat!
Are you a member of the hot group at the Harley dealership in Slidell? I do not have my bike yet. I have ordered a RKC and the ship date is not until April the 21st. The dealership in Slidell said it's going to take about seven days to arrive and two or three prep. I live in Picayune and I would like to put the first couple of thousand miles on the back roads close to home. Maybe we can meet up and ride to Red Bluff or just anywhere north of Slidell. My brother and I are planning to ride to Sturgis this year we have a couple of friends that live in Slidell that are also going to ride us. If it is possible would like to meet akhddeluxe if he goes down their from Alaska. And what you said about the population north of Lake Ponchartrain is the same for Picayune. It seems like it is getting worse. I think a lot of people that lived in Chalmette are leaving and moving up north of the Lake.
id really like to hook up and ride with you if i get down there, been really busy up here dont know if ill be able to make it down there this year or not ill be one sad puppy if i cant. the place i own down there is out liberty rd. my buddy ( where my bike is at ) live off anchor point rd a lilttle pass carriere. when i was down there last august and bought my bike i went on a really cool ride its really easy i went up hgwy 11 to lumberton and then took i hgwy 13 to columbia and the back down hgwy 43 to picayune i think round trip it was like 190 mile it was so fun nice round trip fun roads and it was like 90 that day
Hey 100thRK - we are riding almost every weekend on the MS Gulf Coast. I am the Second Officer with the Southern Cruisers Riding Club - Gulf Coast chapter. There is a chapter over your way too, the Northshore chapter. You're welcome to join us for group rides. You don't have to be a member to ride with us. You can check out where and when we meet on our web site: www.gulfcoastsoutherncruisers.com or e-mail me I will let you know. There is a link to Northshore chapter on our web site. We have a varity of bikes in our club, but H-D is majority. Doesn't matter to me what you ride, as long as you like to ride.
About that Slidell traffic, you're right, I hate it. I used to go to Northshore H-D all the time, but dread it now because of the traffic. We have a lot more traffic here too, so our rides are usually to the country.
Are you a member of the hog group at the Harley dealership in Slidell? I do not have my bike yet. I have ordered a RKC and the ship date is not until April the 21st. Would enjoy riding most anytime. I am retired so.....when you get the RKC give me a yell. I was a member of the SLidell HOG and so were 250 other riders. Two years ago they had 300 members now only 60. The dealer is a real A__hole and has driven everyone off. He treats the HOG group like his own personal event slaves. He does has some great employees and many are friends. They can not stand him either but they need the job. Anyway the Hammond Harley Shop just opened and a bunch of ex Slidell HOG guys are going to join the Hammond HOG. Bunch of us go to Sturgis every year. Went to Daytona this year. We make some of the other events in TX etc. The storm really changed things. Never will be the same. Had good friends in Chalmette. They lost everything including 3 harleys.
