We just bought a beautiful home in McDonough. Well actually it's a McDonough address, but we're pretty far outside of town. The house in tucked back in the woods, well off the road. We're not too far from Jackson Lake, so I'll be able to fish. I'll be looking for a place to hunt turkeys next.
Now to find a job. I saw some warehouse while we were in McDonough. I guess I'll be banging on some doors after we move in. I'd like to avoid the Atlanta area at all costs. The traffic there is just ridiculous. I'd like to live for a few more years.
I drove 825 miles there - over 600 miles while we were visiting - and another 825 miles home. I'm so sore that I can't even ride my bike!!!
Rides all over south GA all the time ... My wife is from Oakwood, GA to the North but as far as the job market stuff will leave that to Karen .. I am Retard... errr Retired...

PM me when you get settled Free Spirit and we can hook up on the hunting issue, I have a spot open on my hunting lease up north of Commerce near the more mountainous region of NE GA. Be glad to let you take a look at our club to see if you are interested. Pres and I both ride and love to hunt. Not a big place right at 300 acres but it's hills and draws and can safely carry 10 + hunters (and at 300 per season you will find it cheap compared to trophy counties). Get some good deer for our surroundings but mostly a meat club. I care more about filling the freezer than horns on the wall.
Not sure what your limits were in PA but here it is 3 gobblers in spring only and 12 deer (two must be buck and one of those 4 point or better on one side), season is 1st Sat in Sept through Jan 1st broke up into archery, primitive and general seasons.
Good For you, Glad you found a place...I moved down from New Jersey in 1993, only been back north for work, 2 visits, a couple weddings, and a funeral...in other words, I pretty much only go back when I have to....lol
I've always been a country boy. We live on a small 8 acre farm. I can hunt deer and turkey in the yard. We also have a stream in the yard, that we stocked with trout.
