well I hav the heated pants, jacket liner, and gloves..... while my nose DOES get cold(ish) with all the warm blood flowing.... it's not bad.... we have a half-dozen or so in my chapter, that have gone electric..... and we all like it.
on the other hand... putting the bike away for a long cold winter, used to mean a winter spent re-inventing your bike. I remember when everyone showed up in the springtime, with new paint, etc...

I kinda like this year-round riding
LOL I can see your point about riding all year and not spending money on reinventing your bike, wondering if buying all that electrical gear is any cheaping than changing up my bike, lol Guess i'm just a wuss i like riding in good weather lol

$ 50 gloves (used.... returned to Gerbings under warranty, got new ones in exchange)
150 Jacket liner (20% internet sale, from Littleton CO)
149 Union Ridge heated pants
100 warm N safe dual controller
449 total for year-round comfort..... I've spent far more, and gotten far less pleasure... but as with everything else... YOUR miles may vary. look me up on New Year's Day, in Ashboro, and I'll let you judge whether they are worth the cost.
Now?? in my ill spent youth in NJ... we'd do extensive mods each winter....
when I talk to friends in the frozen north, and see what they do each year... my $449 total outlay is a drop in their paint budget bucket....
