The funeral for LCpl Golla is going to be held on Saturday, September 16th 2006.
The service will be held at
St. Matthews Catholic Church
8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway
Charlotte NC
Staging will be at Ballantyne Commons East, a shopping center at the intersection of Johnston Rd. (Hwy 521) and Ballantyne Commons Parkway.
0815: I'll be at the staging area.
0950: Preride briefing with KSU directly afterward.
1015: In position at the church.
1100: Services commence.
From Hwy 485 take exit 61 (Johnston Rd./Hwy 521) SOUTH. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light. There are large square arches at all 4 corners of this intersection. Once you turn left the shopping center entrance is the first right. There is a BP station on the same side of the street right at the entrance to the shopping center. The staging area is in the parking lot directly up the hill behind the BP station.
The ride to the church is 2 miles straight down Ballantyne Commons Parkway and I hope to have a Sheriff's escort arranged. There's only 1 large intersection to traverse.
If you're planning to be a part of this mission please post your intent and whether you're a rider or cager. Mount large flags if you can both the National Colors and the Marine Corp flags. Bring flags to hold in a flag line also if you can.
Thank you PGR members for the time you're about to invest to honor this young Marine. It'll be time well spent.
