Looks like I may be moving somewhere near Arlington. Was hoping some of you all could give me the "ins and outs" of riding up there. Any weird handle bar, exhaust, liscence plate laws or anything like that I need to know about before hand?

Va is really laid back on bars, pipes and plates. You might catch and *** once in a while (or in Va. Beach), but your bars are not that high so all is well. You can also run a red light if you sit there for two cycles and it doesn't change.

And there is no restrictions on exhaust, yet. PM me if you want more info on the area. Just retired from Ft Belvoir.

No odd laws or enforcement. Just expect to a lot of impatient ******** to try to kill you.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I ride a lot but have yet to gather the experience to impart advice on others. I live a few miles south a of Arlington. As for laws, VA is a different animal than most states. The state laws are pretty lax (no noise, handle height, license plate has to be visible and lit) but however since it is a commonwealth, laws are enforced by county. I've never had an issue in Stafford where I live but I've been cited a few times in the City of Fredericksburg for noise violations. So its pretty crazy around here.
