I'm planning on going but with this being my first time with my new Harley, I'm not thinking of sleeping too far from it. I want to get a motel room but I was thinking of a ground floor room with arope tied to my bike and my foot while I sleep.
How do ya'll do it? and where do ya stay? and am I too late?
Thanks.

If ya don't mind a little sand between yer buns throw the sleeping bag down beside the scoot and just hold on to the front wheel.

I would suggest camping as well or even renting out a condo with it's own garage.

We always camp, but Captains Quarters has their parking deck blocked off for bikes only & has security.

I pay my insurance and don't worry about it. I've been going to MBBW for 15+ years and never had a problem.

If you check out the website for Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson, they have a section that lists some Biker Friendly hotels. Staying at one of those places will probably be your best bet. They are usually the places that will have some type of security so your bike should be safe as long as you lock it up. If you leave it unlocked and someone gets on your bike and takes off, I doubt security will be able to tell it was being stolen. Just make sure you get your hotel early because they tend to fill up pretty quick. I don't think you need to worry about your bike though.

The first trip we took on our RK, I didn't sleep too much that night. After that I figured I could ride and have fun or worry. It takes a while to get over the worrying part but it gets better. I've had the best luck with Hampton Inns while traveling. Ususally get a ground floor room, maybe something up front, etc. We were coming back from Indiana two years ago, stopped at a Hampton Inn. By the time we got to the front desk, the girl had already put us in a room 2 doors from the lobby on the ground floor. She saw us pull in and had dealt with motorcyclists in the past. There was a concrete apron that came all the way up next to the building that was part of the curbing up front, we literally parked right next to our room's window. That type of service doesn't happen every time but sometimes you get lucky.

Buy a disc lock, enjoy your trip and try not to worry too much.
