So I just got sent an article saying the Laughlin River Run may not happen this year. Anyone in that area heard anything? I shared a link to the article on my facebook page.
The article even mentions that the local chamber has removed the listing from it's event schedule. That's crazy!!!
I'm planing on being in Vegas around the time of the rally. Was planning on riding down to Laughlin to check it out!
Check out the link on my facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/catalystcycles/
I had a friend ask about the Laughlin River Run a few weeks back because he said he could not find it online. I was able to find this link, but it is not the official site.
I know that when I was there with a couple of my friends from CA last year that the attendance was way down. We were even wondering then if it would be around in 2020.
I will be riding to Laughlin Super Bowl Weekend to hang out with some of my riding budies. I'll ask around and let you know what I find out.
Not surprised unfortunately. AZ Bike week last year was light too (hard to call it bike week anymore - I think it was only a few days).
Yeah, last year the Phoenix Bike Week was way down on attendance, I think they are going to rename it the Phoenix Bike Weak. My Navy buddie from CA came over and hung out at my place for the week, spent 1 day doing the T-bar Run and the Concert that night. The rest of the time we just road to local watering holes that I know and worked on my RK. It was fun, but the drop in attendance was noticeable.
Admittedly, I only made it one day last week to Arizona Bike Week at Westworld last year for Godsmack and I thought the crowd was as big as ever. This week I see they have Jackyl, The Offspring, Blackberry Smoke and Lynyrd Skynyrd playing in the Rockyard and there should be some good crowds (depending on the weather, of course). For my money Cave Creek Bike Week, which starts the weekend before AZ Bike Week and they both end the same day (April 5), is always a damn good time and was packed the whole week last year. Both venues are about 15 minutes from my house.

I guess it just depends on the mindset. Compared to the last BW I had gone to, it seemed smaller. Good sized crowd for the show, but it used to take up a much larger part of WestWorld, with the shows under the tent.
Hell I remember them back when I first started riding. Opening weekend would be at Scottsdale HD and that was overflowing (and free depending on where you wanted to stand/sit). Then you'd have them block off Jackson for bikes in downtown Phoenix. That was the first to go.
I'll go again this year a few times, hopefully it'll be better than last year.
