I'm looking for MUST RIDE roads in the Texas Hill Country. We’ll be based in Junction, TX and staying there in early April. Local places to eat and must see sites like the ALAMO movie set in Bracketville are also on the possibilities list.
The twisted sisters (you can spend a day easy exploring around vanderpool, Leakey, and Utopia)
willow city loop (hit luckenback too)
run out to Langtry
Llano , and run into park rd 4 off 29 into marble falls, lunch at Peetes mesquite BBQ head south to 71 and head back west.
there's more, but not sure how many days ya have
up 16 from Bandera to Kerrville (if you're near Tarpley on the weekend stop at mac and ernie's 4 star grub out of a shack.
these folks put out a guide. I highly recommend it http://www.ridetexas.com/ it's on this page with retailers that carry it.
Twisted sisters...I think I dated one of them back in the day!
But seriously now, are they also called "three sisters"? Do you know the Hwy #'s
We'll be there 1/2 day Thursday, Fri., Sat., and 1/2 day Sunday, so we should be able to cover some real estate.
There happens to be an article on riding the exact area you guys are staying in the last Ride texas magazine. I cannot recomend the mag enough for a rider in texas. see the website i posted above.
Hey Texasultra, man I'm gonna be tired because I'm to excited to sleep. As of last night there will be 15 bikes.Afriend told me there was a write up in Texas Ride about The Legends Inn where we'll be staying. They have a pit for the guest to use ,I'm thinking of bringing a small pig and cooking it whole.
J W nailed the absolute best ride in Texas.Coming to the hill country and not riding 335,336 and 337 would be like going to Arizona and not seeing the Grand Canyon ,,,,,,I'd dang sure try and hit hwy 16 from Kerrville to Medina also. You'll be happy as hell riding south out of Junction.
