What is the Tucson crew planning????
Paul,
That's why I want to meet at the Desert Rose today, so we can brainstorm a bit and get an idea of what everyone is going to do. For those that can't make it, we will post what we come up with on this thread later today.
If we do have two groups leaving at differet times, we can arrange a meeting point in Albuquerque or Taos.
Whiskers mentioned that the Colorado State HOG Rally is in Western Colorado that same week and that hotels in Gunniston and Durango will fill up fast. Bill is working on getting group discount rates for rooms and should have them posted later this week. We need to be ready to make reservations when he does.
Thanks to everyone that showed up at the Desert Rose.
Here's what we came up with:
There will be two separate groups going to New Mexico.
Group A will leave from the Phoeinix area on Friday morning at 8 am, going up through Payson, Holbrook and taking I-40 into Albuquerque. Hotel stays as follows:
Friday night - Albuquerque
Saturday night - Taos
Sunday night - Taos
Monday night - Pueblo
Tuesday night - Gunnison
Wednesday night - Durango
Group A riders so far:
cotton hill
joe.1955
dwe.61
merdahl
metalspike
bb156ny
captain john
princeaz ?
Group B will leave from the Tucson area Saturday morning at 8 am, going out through Safford and up to Albuquerque. Hotel stays as follows:
Saturday night - Albuquerque
Sunday night - Taos
Monday night - Pueblo
Tuesday night - Gunnison
Wednesday night - Durango
Everyone else, just pick which schedule works best for you. Most of the riders are planning to make the whole ride, a few are thinking of coming back on Tuesday, and for a few it's too early to tell yet.
Some are thinking about coming back down the Coronado Trail after leaving the Four Corners area on Thursday - possibly staying overnight in Safford.
We'll work out the meetup details as the ride gets closer.
Made it home, nice ride. Again nice seeing everyone again and hopefully I can sneek away from work a "little" more often for some rides.
Ted did you clean that bird s--t of your face. That bird had an upset stomach!!
Good thing you were not yawning !! (nasty)
Or were you chewing and tried to spit in the wind?
