Default Changing tires and wheels on a 1992 Sportster

I have access to a different set of wheels that Id like to entertain putting on my Sportster. They are HD Dunlop wheels size 150/80R16 rear and MT90B16 front on spoke rims(both rims are stamped 16x300). Im not sure which bike these came off of but they are a perfect fit for the stance and look im trying to acheive. My current wheels are stock.

With just a quick measure, it appears the mt90b16 is too wide for my front forks. And though the drive sprocket on the rear looks similar, Im sure there are differences I, as a new harley owner, am unaware of.

Any help, guidance, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Jon

Update: From my recent research, it appears these may be the stock tires from a newer 48. If that helps anyone in determining what I can/have to do.

The fork legs are similar across the current range of Sportsters, but the trees are different on some models, including the 48. I'm not sure there is a simple and quick solution for your older bike, to get that wheel in.

The main challenge however is that your bike has tapered roller wheel bearings, but those 'new' ones have sealed ball races, which are larger in diameter. As a result the bearing housings are larger than on your bike, so your rotors and pulley will not fit. There are other differences, but the executive summary is that they will not readily fit your bike.

While much about Harleys seems pretty constant, things do change over time, so just like my 1990 Glide, much modern stuff will not fit, without a lot of effort!
