Got the 48 up on a new J&S jack and chopped off the rear struts. Projects for this week/weekend include installation of the Easyrider bobber fender, figure machine license plate mount, and 180 tire conversion (on 17 x 4.5 dyna wheel).
Test fitted the new wheel/tire... Left pictures are before and right ones are after:

I'm using button head stainless steel 5/16-18 x 2 1/2 bolts to attach the fender to the rear struts. As you can see, there will be plenty of room under the fender for the tire to clear the bolts. The rear turn signals have the same thread so I'll be attaching the turn signals to the threaded end of these bolts on the outside of the struts.
