Silly question on oil level.

Hmm, that's interesting, follow the manual or dealer. Manual says on jiffy, dealer says off (straight up) jiffy. I guess I'll follow the manual and not go to that dealer anymore.... as it appears they are out to break my bike. Wow, SCUMBAG dealer.....

For the last 105 years, you stood a Harley level to check levels, so you should understand the confusion. Then the insurance companies dictated to the mother ship to calibrate the level on the stand. Seems that so many girls ride Sportys and they were tired of paying all the repair bills. Seems that they were letting the bike fall over on them checking the oil while holding the bike up.

It's not rocket science to measure them in both positions, then just use each reference point as a guide. That's how I did it.

If you check it upright chances are youll underfill not overfill.
