I was wondering if any of you had heard of these new Peacemaker Exhaust pipes.
http://www.peacemakersexhausts.com/ I was looking at getting some pipes and if these are any good, I think that I would get them. I am just wondering how you would tune them as they are part straight pipe part heavily baffled.
Looks like they would end up stuck in one position or the other due to carbon at some point.I would think it would be better to tune them to theopen position so you are not running lean.If you don't add a high flow air cleaneryou probable won't need to tune it anyhow.
Similar concept to the âquick and quietâ exhaust on performance boats. I can say that Iâve put many hours on those⌠and have still had no issues in those rare occasions that I need to select âquietâ.
I do agree that you would want to tune the carb with them open.
Back in the day... mid 60s... I used some "snuffor nots"... you turned one way and they were straight pipes the other way they were somewhat baffled...
They happened to be way too restrictive when baffled... you could feel it in the rpms...
I would be a little concerned about the valve train. Too much back pressure on a larger engine will cause them to float too much. I too used a butterfly valve on my pipes in the old days. They did make a difference. They did save me a lot of times from the cops with the noise factor. They worked but, the motor was a lot smaller.
