Have you counted the teeth on the sprocket you put on?

Check out this thread:

I hadn't noticed before but our charts are opposite! I think the one I posted is bad.

Yes I counted the teeth on it before installed and there is 51 plus if it was off I would've be calling the online vendor I got it from.

If you want to go faster than what you had on the 55 you're going to have to put on a 53 or 54 provided your chain is long enough.

That's what I figured just wasn't sure because of all the different charts I looked at. I want the better gas mileage because I drive this beast 105 miles a day to work and back so I guess time for another new sprocket and chain.

Thanks for all the input guys

Yep, his bike doesn't have enough power to push that gearing combination. He needs to get back closer to his original ratio, maybe -1 on the rear.

Front Rear Ratio Torque Speed
23T 49T 2.13 -12.2% +12.2%
23T 50T 2.17 -10.0% +10.0%
23T 51T 2.22 -7.8% +7.8%
23T 52T 2.26 -5.8% +5.8%
23T 53T 2.30 -3.8% +3.8%
23T 54T 2.35 -1.9% +1.9%
23T 55T 2.39
23T 56T 2.43 +1.8% -1.8%
23T 57T 2.48 +3.5% -3.5%
Increase in speed is theorectical, as the engine may not have enough power to reach this speed
