well just had my first test ride on my iron with a set of forward controls and...... luv em! think the riding look is better and defo more comfy. Tested on open road and city riding and with my 12" apes its a great combination as ive rode my friends 48 with standard bars but with my apes it just felt better??
I think anyone thinking about forwards wont be disappointed.
Wore my new Bell 500 helmet too which fits like a glove and much quieter than my old one so im a happy bloke and the best bit is ive just done a balance transfer between credit cards so wifey wont know how much it all costs! lol
I'm having FC's and 12" bars put on mine too, hope its as comfy as you say lol I'm 6 feet tall and I knew right away the mid controls and low bars just wasn't gonna work for me! How tall are you btw?
I've got forward controls and 12" apes on my Nightster and couldn't be happier. I'm 6'1" and it feels good to stretch out a little. Now my girlfriend on the other hand, coming in at a whopping 5'2" switched from forwards to mids with stock low bars and loves it on her 48. It's a personal fit for everyone but I know, with the mid controls, I would be kissing my knee caps with every bump.
apes anmf forwards look so much more comfortable that with stock bars.
It looks as though the rider is bent double which can't be good for any distance

I have 12" Burly narrow apes and love them but I wish I would've gone with 14" instead.
