oh gotcha, i was confused and thought you had used the alcohol/ vinegar method that run1fsr had mentioned.
did you do anything to prep before the clear? or just apply clear to the bare metal?

I can appreciate all the work you've done. I love the color and the personalization that is going into this...

BUT.. I must say... I do not like the seat color with the tin colors. That brown leatherish look just clashes too much. I am not sure if I know a better color besides black to use for the seat... but the brown... I am just not digging it.

Take it with a grain.. but.... that's my two cents. The rest of the bike looks beautiful though. So kudos on all your efforts.

no worries when I bought the seat I was going in a different direction with the bike. I don't see the rusted look being my long term theme I have a good feeling after this season I may go custom paint and get the seat wrapped accordingly. this bike has been a fun one because almost every single piece has been made by my brother dad and myself so its been a lot of beer drinking fun. and we have a very long list of things still to come....
