As enjoyable as this has been it has also been as equally frustrating. I am at the point where we are trying to find TDC to install the Rocker boxes. However, turning the wheel over in fifth gear is very difficult. I am not sure what I could of potentially done wrong.
To get the bike into 5th gear I had a buddy turn the wheel while I held down the clutch and shifted into 5th gear. Dan from hammer performance told me that I shouldn't be using the clutch and to rock the wheel back and forth and I should be able to manually shift by hand. Haven't given this a shot yet since I have been at work but if anyone has had the same problem or knows of any step I am overlooking please let me know.
You don't need to use the clutch to turn the rear wheel while changing gear, Dan is right. The engine will be quite stiff to turn over, due to the lovely new tight unbedded pistons and rings, but it shouldn't be difficult.
Thanks guys, I did not have the spark plugs in but I am not sure I was in 5th gear. I was able to easily change gears without using the clutch and got the piston into TDC....Thank you all very much.
