Default Flat Tracker/Scrambler Build

Picked up this sportster that started off an 883 and began work on the cosmetic stuff... the engine is race ready. Everything is good to go, just making it my own now. Ordered some stuff... gotta do something with the exhaust (welded up 1200R components). More black, less chrome, rearsets, bobbing the fender, and things like that coming in the future...

Mods:
- Cylinders were bored with torque plates and fitted with J&E pistons to 1200cc
- Mild port match work
- Mikuni HSR 42mm
- Buell XB 12R Cams
- Adjustable ignition module
- 17" Dyna rear wheel laced to the sportster hub
- Continental TKC 80 tires front and rear
- 15" rear shocks
- Fairing has 12v outlet and heated grip switch for heated grips
- Biltwell foot pegs and Moto bars
- Moose Racing hand guards
- 2" over front fork tubes with progressive springs

Here's some pics so far... let me know what you think. Sorry for the bad quality... ill get better pics soon.

Added the tank stripes last night.. just curious to see how it looks. So far I dig.

Thinking about painting the fairing black instead of the silver it is... not sure yet

Kinda out of order.. but you get the idea of where the bikes at.

Hey guys so I added some decals and Moose Racing hand guards... I'm getting a new battery tomorrow, but I wanted to see what you guys use to clean out the carbs and whatnot. I was hoping for something I can just throw in the gas tank. I just refilled with fresh premium gas.. was thinking maybe seafoam. It's taking 3-4 starts before it fires up.. not much hesitation but enough to make me want to do something about it.

Anyways I know my Harley isn't for everyone but I ****ing love it so just trying to keep it squared away. Thanks!

Here's some pics...

Cool bike. I think Sportsters are really good for tracker/cafe bikes. They can handle really well if set up right.

I've been wanting a sporty like this for playing in areas I wouldn't ride a bagger.

Some close-ups of the handlebar setup... basically just moto bars withs tubing welded to mount the moose racing handguard bar and shields. The levers had to be chopped a bit. Sorry for the weird lighting...

You can build just about anything with a Sportster. That is part of the beauty of them. Just make it into what you want it to be.

To the OP, looking good! Keep those photos on the transformation coming.

I have no intention of running a chain... one of my first memories of a Harley was my dad showing me that Harley used a belt.. I was like 7 or 8. I love the belt...

Thanks and I agree! I like baggers but it's just not my thing yet... I've been riding an R6 for years. My brother started tattooing at a Harley dealer and I fell back in love with them. I wanted to do something different with a sportster, thought about a cafe, decided scrambler works better.
