Quiet please!
Loud pipes are going to ruin it for the rest of us. Congrats on wanting a quieter bike. Every time I hear a Harley (or an import bike or car, for that matter) from a mile away, I think "what a self-indulgent jerk". I know I'm not alone in this feeling, because I'm getting phone calls. In my area, we are starting to see (and craft) noise ordinances which deal with "Jake Brakes". Bikes with loud exhaustWILL NOTbe far behind.
Don't believe me..? Keep revving those "life savers" (while you wear no helmet!?!?) and see what happens. I'm on a city council, so I know what happens.[&o]

They came up with a Noise Ordinance that would put a person in violation ifa DB level was over a certain number at a certain distance.
I'm sure the Ordinance was aimed at bikers, as the state I'm in has no Statues dealing with mufflers or DB limits on bikes, cars, or trucks.
Quite a bit of taxpayers money was spent of certified testing equipment for the police department and whatever else was needed to enforce the new Ordinance.
What the 'wise council members' failed to realize is that a City Ordinance dealing with noise limits applies to any generated noise that is higher than the maximum allowed limit.
For every bike complaint there were probably 20 complaints dealing with noise generated by cars, trucks, chain saws, lawn mowers, 'boom boxes', etc...
Last I heard the Municipal Judge was throwing out 99% of the cases involving city noise ordinance violations.
